Braces and Implants
Metal Braces
These wires and brackets are what most people think of when they hear “braces”. The modern brackets look smaller and are less obvious than the “metal-mouth braces” that so many people remember. The new heat-activated brackets make it easier to move your teeth faster and more painlessly than before.
Con: The most noticeable braces
Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces have the same shape and size as metal braces but are smaller in diameter. They also come with clear, tooth-colored, or translucent brackets which blend seamlessly into teeth. You can even choose to use tooth-colored wires for even greater visibility.
Cons: They are more noticeable than braces made from metal Brackets may stain easily, especially if they’re not properly maintained.
Lingual Braces
Traditional metal braces have the same lingual wires, but the brackets and wires can be placed inside the teeth.
Con: The braces are not visible from outside. You might consider this alternative to braces. The Oral B iO electric toothbrush has a unique, round head that cleans all surfaces.
You should pay more attention to your oral hygiene, regardless of which braces type you have. Braces made with brackets and wires make your teeth more susceptible to plaque buildup and other food debris. This can lead to staining or tooth decay. A toothbrush that can be used to brush teeth one at a time is possible with the Oral B iO. The Oral B iO has micro-vibrating bristles attached to a round toothbrush head inspired by dentists.
